There are some property projects where the circuit acts in the role of managing trustee (for example, when a new manse is purchased for a minister joining the circuit). In any such instances, the circuit will complete the Project Record and will be delegated the managing trustee responsibilities of the Circuit Meeting. The Circuit Meeting are still ultimately responsible for the decisions taken by the circuit on their behalf and therefore the circuit must regularly report to the Circuit Meeting. Please also note that managing trustees must liaise with TMCP from the early stages of a project where is involves sales, leases, purchases or any other legal transaction.
For further information on the role of the circuit meeting, please refer to Section 5 of the Constitutional Practice and Discipline of the Methodist Church (CPD).
